With the commissioning of the first of three e-pilot vehicles in the road maintenance service, another milestone in the decarbonization strategy of the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Bern has been reached. The three pilot vehicles (3.5 / 5.5 tons) are being put through their paces in winter maintenance and maintenance work in the Seeland, Oberland West and Emmental road inspectorates. The next steps for replacing the fleet will then be determined on the basis of the results and market developments.
